The Atto 3's current AFEMC position
The Atto 3 was the model that effectively launched the AFEMC partnership when it was unveiled alongside the Han at Future Mobility Day on 15 March 2023. Three years on, the picture is more nuanced. The Atto 3 retains a dedicated product page on the BYD UAE site, however it is no longer featured in the main new-car carousel on byduae.ae as of mid-2026. AFEMC has narrowed UAE-spec availability to the single 60.5 kWh Comfort FWD trim ahead of the next-generation Atto 3 Evo, which is expected to arrive in H1 2027.
What this means in practice: the Atto 3 is still officially supported, still sold through AFEMC, still under the full warranty and free-service package, and will remain so for current and future owners. It is simply the run-out generation of a model that is about to be replaced.
Current 2026 UAE pricing and finance
UAE retail for the 60.5 kWh Comfort FWD sits at around AED 149,900 including VAT in 2026, per Drive Arabia and Yallamotor. You will still find older online listings quoting AED 94,900 or AED 109,900 from 2023 and 2024; those reflect launch pricing that no longer applies. AFEMC finance is typically structured around a 20 percent down payment and instalment terms up to 60 months, with promotional 0 percent finance windows appearing on the offers page periodically. Confirm any monthly figure with AFEMC sales rather than relying on the older online quotes.
Battery and range: the LFP advantage in the Gulf
The Atto 3 ships with BYD's signature Blade Battery in a 60.48 kWh pack on the UAE-spec Extended Range Comfort. The chemistry is lithium iron phosphate (LFP), which has a higher thermal-runaway threshold than the nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cells used in most German and Korean rivals. That matters in the UAE, where summer ambient routinely hits 45 to 50°C and cabin temperatures can climb past 70°C. One Gulf-specific note: the widely-repeated "keep your EV between 20 and 80 percent" rule is an NMC-chemistry guideline. BYD's owner documentation for LFP packs does not impose the same daily charging discipline. The Atto 3 accepts up to 11 kW AC at home over a Type 2 connector and up to 88 kW DC at public fast chargers over CCS2. Real-world figures in the UAE:
- Home wallbox (7 to 11 kW): a full top-up takes around 6 to 9 hours, comfortably overnight.
- DEWA EV Green Charger AC: typically 22 kW limited to the car's 11 kW ceiling.

The brochure says 420 km WLTP. UAE owners should plan around real-world figures that account for A/C load and high-speed cruising:
- Mixed Dubai driving, A/C on, mild months (Nov to Mar): ~370 to 410 km.
- Summer driving, A/C at full load, 45 to 50°C: ~320 to 380 km.
- Sustained 120 km/h highway (Sheikh Zayed Road): ~290 to 330 km.
The 12 percent or so range drop in peak summer is normal for any EV; the LFP chemistry handles the heat better than most NMC rivals, but the air-conditioning still has to do the same work.
ADAS package: solid, not Tesla-tier
UAE-spec Atto 3s ship with adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert and a 360-degree camera. The driver-assistance suite is competent and well-calibrated for highway use, but it is not a Tesla Autopilot or BMW Highway Assistant tier system. - Reduced range in summer: normal LFP behaviour, not a fault. Pre-cool the cabin while plugged in to save battery on the drive.
- Touchscreen lag after sun-soak: park in shade or use a windshield sunshade; the screen recovers as the cabin cools.
- OTA update interruptions: park with at least 30 percent battery and a stable Wi-Fi signal; updates can take close to an hour.
- Cabin filter clogging: replace every 12 months in the UAE, not every 24 as the global manual suggests, due to dust loading.
- Salik tag fitment: position behind the rear-view mirror, not on the rotating screen housing.
