BYD Shark 6 12V Battery and Jump Start: The Manual's Method

The BYD Shark 6's 12V battery lives under the rear seat and mostly looks after itself with intelligent charging from the high-voltage pack. When it goes dormant after long parking, the manual's ladder is: press the driver's door handle microswitch first, and only if that fails, open up with the mechanical key and jump start, strictly through the special interface on the under-hood PDB, then keep the ute running 15 minutes.

  3. Start the vehicle, and expect the cluster's honest warning, that the low-voltage battery SOC is low and the vehicle is going to power off, if you dawdle
  4. Keep it started for over 15 minutes so the 12V charges fully, otherwise the ute simply goes dormant again
  5. Respect the caution: the manual recommends professional guidance, since the PDB's working space is tight and circuit risks are real
